Hydrazide functionalized polyethylene glycol (PEG-NHNH2) is a reactive PEG derivative that can be used to modify proteins, peptides and other materials via carboxylic group (-COOH) or other amine reactive chemical groups. It also reacts quickly with carbohydrate residues. PEGylation can increase solubility and stability and reduce immunogenicity of peptides and proteins. It can also suppress the non-specific binding of charged molecules to the modified surfaces.

Biotin functionalized polyethylene glycol (PEG-Biotin) is an avidin or streptavidin binding PEG derivative that is used to biotinylate biomolecules or other material surfaces. Biotin can be easily detected by biotin/streptavidin binding assay and is widely used for molecule target detection.
